Welcome to the Eastern Camden County Regional School District—one of New Jersey’s premier educational communities and proud home of the Vikings. On behalf of the Eastern Camden County Regional Board of Education, our students, and staff, I am pleased to welcome you to our school district's website. This platform serves as a valuable resource for you to learn more about our district and the incredible opportunities we offer.
Our district is centered around a single comprehensive high school—Eastern Regional High School—serving approximately 1,900 students from the vibrant communities of Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro, and Voorhees Township. Our student body is diverse, reflecting the unique character of these communities, and we are committed to providing an inclusive environment that values and celebrates every student's unique contribution to our school.
Commitment to Excellence: The Four A's
Eastern Camden County Regional School District remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, guided by the Four A’s: Academics, the Arts, Athletics, and Activities. At Eastern, we are dedicated to equipping every student with the knowledge, skills, and life experiences necessary to thrive beyond high school. Our students excel in rigorous academic programs, shine in the arts, perform beautiful music, and compete at the highest levels in athletics. Their talents and achievements inspire our entire community.
Our academic program offers a myriad of educational programs and services designed to meet the needs of individual students, and to provide them with opportunities to pursue their own special areas of interest. In addition to traditional course offerings in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, World Language (French, Spanish, and Latin), Health & Physical Education, the school district provides programs in Preschool Child Development, Art, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Business Education, Gifted & Talented, Special Education, Family & Consumer Science, Robotics, Drones & Aviation, Building Trades & Technology. Partnerships with Camden County College, Rowan University, and Stockton University provide opportunities for our students to earn college credit while in high school. Our students earn college credits either through High School Plus or through concurrent enrollment opportunities.

Apple Distinguished School Recognition
We are proud to announce that Eastern Regional High School has been recognized as an **Apple Distinguished School**, a designation reserved for schools that demonstrate continuous innovation in teaching and learning through technology. This recognition reflects our commitment to fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among our students. At Eastern, each of our 1,900 students has access to an iPad, enabling a 1:1 learning environment where technology enhances education and prepares students for the digital world.
The strong technological infrastructure of our school supports this mission, backed by continual investment in wireless access, servers, and cybersecurity initiatives. The integration of cutting-edge technology into daily learning empowers our students and teachers to achieve new heights in educational excellence.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Technological Advancements
In addition to our Apple Distinguished School status, we provide our students with state-of-the-art facilities that support a modern, technologically advanced education. Thanks to the ongoing support of our School Board and community, our campus has been continuously modernized with a new climate-controlled HVAC system powered by expanded solar panel arrays, an energy-efficient boiler system, and robust technology infrastructure. We are also enhancing campus security with new integrated electronic systems and vaping detection sensors.
Beyond the Classroom: Extracurricular Excellence
Beyond the classroom, Eastern offers countless opportunities for students to engage in over 45 clubs and organizations, including Robotics, DECA, Interact, Cultural Diversity Club, GSA Network, and Student Council. Our Gifted & Talented program participants have competed in prestigious Model United Nations conferences, and our performing arts programs—featuring an annual fall play, one-act plays, and a spring musical—are highlights of the year.
Our athletic program is among the best in New Jersey. With 28 competitive sports teams, we proudly compete in the Olympic Conference, arguably the toughest athletic conference in the state. Our athletes consistently achieve conference, sectional, and state championships, with recent successes including state championships in girls’ track and our boys’ lacrosse and baseball teams reaching the state finals.
Student Achievements and Future Readiness
We are fortunate to have some of the most talented and academically gifted students in the tri-state area. The Class of 2024 celebrated the graduation of 479 seniors, with 83% pursuing higher education, 8% entering the workforce, and 2% committing to serve in the military. Our students consistently score above state and national averages on SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement exams.
As we continue to grow and innovate, Eastern Camden County Regional School District remains dedicated to providing every student with a world-class education and preparing them for a bright future. Our focus on the social-emotional well-being of both students and staff, coupled with innovative academic and extracurricular offerings, ensures that our graduates are well-rounded and ready to succeed in their chosen paths.
Community and Safety
Outstanding students, dedicated staff members, first-rate facilities, and three communities that support and value education make the Eastern Camden County Regional School District a special place to work and learn. We encourage parents and community members to become active partners in our school's success. The following parent groups share in the school’s many successes: District Advisory Council, Every Student Succeeds Parental Advisory Committee, Eastern Education Foundation, Band Parents' Association, Project Graduation, and the Berlin-Gibbsboro-Voorhees Municipal Alliance. Together, we ensure that Eastern remains a safe, nurturing, and vibrant place for all.
Enhanced School Safety and Security
At Eastern Regional High School, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. In response to the growing concerns about vaping and overall school security, we have implemented several advanced security measures that demonstrate our comprehensive approach to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment:
- Comprehensive Security System Upgrade: We have completed the installation of a new door access and alarm system across all exterior doors, featuring advanced audible and visual alarms and constant monitoring for potential security breaches. Conspicuous signage informs staff, students, and visitors about these new security measures.
- Safety and Security Sensors in Bathrooms: To combat the issue of vaping among students, we have installed safety and security sensors in all bathrooms. These sensors are designed to detect chemical signatures of vaping, acts of aggression, and even gunshots. Immediate notifications are sent to our School Resource Officers (SRO) and administration, ensuring prompt investigation and response.
- SmartPass System: As part of our teacher-led initiative to improve security and streamline student movement, we expanded the use of the SmartPass system. Initially piloted for restroom use, SmartPass is now required in various offices, including Guidance, Attendance, Child Study Team, and the Nurses’ Office. This system enhances monitoring and allows better management of student whereabouts.
These proactive steps are part of our ongoing commitment to creating a secure learning environment for all. The recent upgrades reflect our dedication to safety, ensuring that Eastern Regional High School remains a safe place to learn and grow.
