  • For several decades, local community members have generously donated scholarships to graduating seniors in need, helping them achieve their educational goals.  The relationship garnered with local individuals and organizations has been immeasurable, and their philanthropic initiatives create a lasting impact on the lives of our Eastern Regional High School students in our community.  We are so grateful for this opportunity for students, parents, and our local community to learn more about our charitable benefactors!

Scholarship Criteria for Applicants

    3 Dimensional Physical Therapy West Berlin Scholarship Applicants must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for the scholarship:
    (1) Student is attending college in the upcoming fall semester with plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy
    - OR -
    (2) Participated in physical therapy as a patient at some point during their high school years
    AND applicants must submit a one-paged essay answering one of the questions presented below:
    1. Why do you want to become a Physical Therapist?
    - OR -
    2. How did overcoming an injury through Physical Therapy help you become the person you are today?

    American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 371 of Gibbsboro, NJ
    Nursing Scholarship
    We are looking for two candidates who are applying or have been accepted to RN School for advance training. Please submit one essay that is 500 words or less about "How will you use your RN education/degree to help with aging veterans, ill and injured troops and their families?"
    Back the Blue Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Voorhees Township Police Patrol Officers Association
    Candidate must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have been absent no more than 5 days from school. Please submit an essay explaining how you plan to help work with police departments to better your community.
    Berlin Borough Fire Department Scholarship Student must have a parent or relative who is a firefighter, police officer or EMT. Student must have done volunteer or community service during the year. Resident of Berlin Borough preferred.
    Berlin Community School & Home Association Scholarship Graduating seniors with the highest GPAs who reside in Berlin Borough AND attended & graduated from Berlin Community School.
    Berlin Lions Club Scholarship Applicant must be a resident of Berlin Borough. Submit an essay explaining how over the past 4 years you have improved your grades and have gotten to the place you are today.
    Berlin Rotary Club “Joyce Iuliano Memorial” Award Candidate must be a resident of Berlin Borough, member of INTERACT Club, a good citizen, community-minded, well-rounded and exemplifies service above self.
    Berlin Rotary Club Scholarship All recipients must be a member of the INTERACT Club and must live in Berlin Borough. They must exhibit a high degree of good fellowship, tolerance, respect for authority and for the rights of others, honesty and courtesy.
    Bruce Jackson Memorial Foundation Scholarship The Bruce Jackson Memorial Scholarship was established in rememberance of our Beloved Bruce and #1 Superfan of Eastern High School. This scholarship as nominated by Eastern's faculty, is awarded to two seniors who best exemplify leadership, resiliency, trsutworthiness, diligence, and school spirit.
    Camden County Bar Association and Foundation Scholarship Candidates must meet the following criteria:
    - academic standing in the top 20% of the class
    - active participation in and/or community organizations or events
    - plans to pursue education in law or law-related disciplines such as law enforcement, social work or government service

    Candidate's name will be submitted to a bigger pool from which one could win:
    1st place $2,500, 2nd place $1,500, 3rd place $750
    Carla Micciche Raroha Memorial Scholarship

    Student must be involved with the INTERACT Club and currently have at least a "B" average (GPA 2.75-3.25).
    David Pastore Memorial Scholarship Senior graduating student from Berlin Borough with highest GPA
    Eastern Education Association Philanthropic Scholarship QUALIFICATIONS
    1. The recipient must qualify for a high school diploma.
    2. The recipient must be enrolled in or accepted by an accredited institution of his/her choice.
    3. Eligibility is limited to Eastern High School seniors. Class rank and grade point average will be taken into consideration.
    4. The recipient must be planning to enter the education profession.
    5. The recipient must be endorsed by the Selection Committee.
    6. Immediate family members of ECCRSD staff may not receive the scholarship.

    Submit essay explaining why you have chosen to enter the educational field. Upload your transcript and a letter of recommendation.
    Eastern Theatre Boosters Club Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
    1. Applicants must have participated in a minimum of 4 major EHS theater activities in a performance and/or technical capacity (major activities defined as Fall Play, Team Theater, Spring Musical, One Acts) during their time at Eastern.

    2. Complete the required essay: describe in no more than 500 words what participation in theater up to now has meant to you
    and why it is an important activity to pursue in high school.

    3. Briefly describe your plans after graduation in no more than 3 sentences.

    4. Attach a resume that includes EHS theater activities with the dates you participated. You may also include outside theater activities that you participated in during high school.
    Eastern Yearbook Leadership Award Must be an active member of Eastern Yearbook for at least 2 years. Submit an essay describing what being a member of yearbook has meant to you and what your contributions have been to Eastern's yearbook.
    Fraternal Order of Police South Jersey Lodge #56 Scholarship Student pursuing a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.
    Friends of Jewish Lions Gate Senior Living Community Volunteers Scholarship Selected candidates should have been or currently be volunteers at the Lions Gate Senior Assisted Living Facility in Voorhees. Students who have financial need are preferred but not required.  Submit a short description of your volunteering experience at Lions Gate.
    Gibbsboro Education Association Scholarship A graduate of Gibbsboro Elementary School who excels academically and
    demonstrates exceptional character and commitment to serving the community.
    Gibbsboro Home and School Association Scholarship A graduating senior who resides in Gibbsboro with the highest GPA
    Golden Viking Memorial Award
    Sponsored by Retired Faculty & Staff Members
    Students must complete the attached application that includes an essay, have at least a "B" average (at least 83/100 GPA), demonstrate a well-rounded involvement in school and community activities, and be accepted to a post-secondary institution of higher education or other post-secondary institution.
    Hope Holds Strong Scholarship The creators of this scholarship designed it in honor of those Eastern High School students who have suffered the loss of a parent or sole guardian. This tragedy is recognized to be a hardship that no one at such a young age should have to encounter. In order to lessen the burden of financing a post high school education, this scholarship was established to aid in funding the purchase of books and other supplies.

    The criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
    1. Loss of parent or sole guardian: The candidate for this scholarship must have lost a primary income due to the passing of a parent or guardian.
    2. Academic performance and dedication: The applicant should hold an unweighted 86 grade point average or higher.
    3. Acceptance to a Two/Four Year Degree Program: The successful candidate will have been accepted to an accredited two or four year degree program.
    4. Proof of Well-Rounded Character: The applicant must have participated in at least two sports or activities with or without a school association throughout his or her high school career.
    5. Essay, Recommendation, and Completed Application: The hopeful candidate must have completed the attached application and submit it accompanied by an essay and recommendation letters as detailed on the special application form.
    Interact Club Scholarship for Officers Must be a senior Interact Club officer
    Jean Clementi Memorial Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club
    Student with commitment to community service, preferably a member of the INTERACT Club, and has a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
    Jennifer Porco Memorial Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Voorhees Girls Softball Association
    Applicant must be a B average student, accepted in a 2 or 4-year degree program, participated in softball at least 5 years for VGSA & 1 year for Eastern Softball, and demonstrates good character. More detailed instructions are included in the special application.
    Jerome A. Klein Memorial Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Voorhees Rotary Dinner Club
    Student must be involved with the INTERACT Club and currently have at least a "B" average (GPA 2.75-3.25).
    John A. Keller, Jr. Memorial Scholarship One male and one female student who currently wrestle for Eastern Regional High School and have wrestled for minimally one year. Students should have a "B" average, and plan to enroll in college for the upcoming fall. Candidates are preferred to have attended Eastern Regional High School for all four years and graduated 8th grade from one of the sending schools (Voorhees Middle, Berlin Community School, or Gibbsboro Elementary School).
    Jonahstrong Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Gibbsboro Honor Society
    For a former Gibbsboro Elementary School student who perseveres in the face of adversity; submit a short essay about how you overcame said adversity.
    Kyle Dammer Art Scholarship Applicant must be in financial need, is compassionate, and hardworking.
    Lea Fitzpatrick Memorial Foundation Scholarship Student who has attending Berlin Community School who has a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and is pursuing a college degree in Science or Education. Include an essay explaining why you intend to major in the field you have chosen and what your career objectives include. More details are included in the special application.
    Linda Zaluksky "I Care" Award Sponsored by the Camden County School Counselor's Association Linda L. Zalusky was an outstanding school counselor in Camden County who embodies the word "caring". Selected candidate must best exemplify Linda Zalusky's legacy.
    Louis J. Fuller Memorial Scholarship Mr. Fuller taught at Eastern for 25 years and established the AP U.S. History program, and this scholarship was created in his memory to reflect his passion for teaching and history. Awarded to a top graduating senior who has completed two years of AP U.S. History. The recipient must be endorsed by the Selection Committee, which will consider performance in AP History, contributions to the classroom culture, and financial need.
    Louis Salvatore Memorial Scholarship Senior baseball or golf team participant, has a financial need, strong academics, leadership, citizenship, service to school & community. Students with a "full ride" are not eligible.
    NOMINEE BY COMMITTEE ONLY:
    Marilyn Wissman "Helping Hands" Scholarship
    Winning candidate will be selected from group of Camden County High School nominees.
    Eligible students must meet the following criteria:
    - have at least a 2.5/c+ grade point average
    - intend to major in a mental health or other related field (psychology, sociology, social work, etc)
    - plan to attend college this Fall
    - be a senior at a Camden County High School where the counselors have 100% membership
    Otis Brodie Memorial Scholarship The selected candidate should satisfy one these criteria options:
    1. Special Education boy or girl AND a member of African-American Cultural Club with a GPA of at least 2.5 and planning to attend any post-secondary education.
    2. Special Education boy or girl of color with GPA of at least 2.5 and planning to attend any post-secondary education.
    3. Boy or girl of color with a GPA of at least 2.5 planning to attend any post-secondary education
    Pete DiCianni Memorial Bocce League Scholarship The selected candidate should have a reputation as a kind and respectful student, and have a history of volunteerism and/or community involvement. Please submit a one-page or less short essay describing the applicant's views about culture and tradition, preferably in association with the game of bocce and how it has been a positive, memorable part of the applicant's life. Please submit at least one letter of recommendation that describes the student's character.

    Filipiniana Recognition Award
    High School graduating students that desire to apply for PCSNJ, Inc. Recognition must be in the top 20% of graduating class, of Philippine descent and a resident of South Jersey
    Rasik "Russ" Mehta Memorial Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Voorhees Rotary Dinner Club
    Student must be an INTERACT Club Member and plans on studying Engineering in college, and has a financial need for the funds.
    Richard C. Hardenbergh Scholarship Applicant must be a resident of a sending district, has a 3.0 or higher GPA through senior year, and participates in school and community. Please submit an essay: "How have your school and community service activities made a difference to your school and community?"
    Rizzieri Aveda Beauty and Wellness Scholarship Graduating seniors who has shown an interest in the beauty and wellness industry and is considering seeking enrollment to the Rizzieri Aveda School.
    $1000 Scholarship for Cosmetology per student
    $500 Scholarship for Skin Care per student
    $500 Scholarship for Manicuring per student
    Sailesh & Manidipa Chowdhury Scholarship
    Sponsored by the Indian Cultural Center
    The selection criteria are as follows:
    One scholarship will be given to a student (US citizen of Indian Origin) and one to a student (US citizen of any origin) meeting these criteria. (weighted grading on a 10- point scale)
    1. GPA 3.0 or higher- 3 pts
    2. Science Project Participation -2 pts
    3. Sports Participation -1pt
    4. Participation in community Activities -1pt
    5. Leadership (event organizer, student council etc.)- 1pt 6. Music or Drama Participation -2 pt
    Sarah Trautwein Memorial Scholarship Student who has overcome challenges in their life or has gone through a life-changing event; preferably but not required to be attending University of South Carolina (USC) in the upcoming fall.
    Sergeant Matthew Hess Memorial Scholarship Resident of Berlin Borough preferred, who meets ONE OR MORE of the following criteria:
    1. Student is in the ROTC
    2. Student will be joining the military
    3. Student has a immediate family who is in or served in the military (and was either Killed in Action, awarded a medal, served in combat, or served but not in combat)
    4. Student has an immediate family member who is a First Responder
    Smiles from Kara: Athletics Scholarship The graduate must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and played on either the soccer, LAX, or basketball teams during their senior year. Ideally, they will also be committed to attending a 4 year college in the upcoming fall. We seek to award this scholarship to a candidate whose character demonstrates loyalty and kindness in their life. Complete the special application accompanied by 2-3 Letters of Recommendation, and write an essay explaining how you may have applied these character traits in your life.
    Smiles from Kara: Career in Childhood Education Scholarship Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and preferably, but not required, have participated in the Little Vikings Pre-School program during their high school career. This awarded scholarship will go to a graduate who desires to make a difference in a child’s life by choosing a career in teaching and be committed to attending a 2-year community college or a 4-year college in the upcoming fall. Complete the special application accompanied by 2-3 Letters of Recommendation, and write an essay explaining who/what impacted your decision to be the kind of teacher that makes such an impact in a child’s life, that they would remember you in the same way and want to pursue a career in teaching as well.
    Southern Camden County Policeman's Benevolent Association of NJ Local #362 Scholarship Candidate should have an interest in law enforcement/citizenship or community volunteering.
    Swimming Excellence Scholarship Selected candidates (ONE from Girls Swim and ONE from Boys Swim) must be on the swim team for FOUR years and show dedication and leadership in the swimming community.
    Write an essay showing leadership in the world of swimming within
    the community.
    The Colin Windebank Memorial Scholarship Fund Sponsored by the Colin's Wish Foundation The applicant must be pursuing an education in the mental health & substance use disorder discipline, have a passion for helping those who are struggling without passing judgement, must have been on the honor roll for the last two consecutive years, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    The Hassman Family of Berlin Medical Associates Scholarship Presented to a well-rounded student from the Berlin community who meets the following criteria:
    a) demonstrates an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare
    b) is involved in extracurricular activities
    c) is academically motivated and
    d) is involved in community service
    The Voorhees Art Commission Scholarship Selecting one male and one female graduate who will be pursuing higher education in the arts.
    Voorhees Basketball Association Scholarship Please submit an application accompanied with an essay of no more than one page discussing what the Voorhees Basketball Association has meant to you and how it impacted you.
    Voorhees Business Association Scholarship Students who have performed community service during their 4 years at Eastern and/or charitable activities such as volunteer work or organization of benefit drives, during his/her high school years.
    Voorhees Cultural & Diversity Scholarship Achievement Award Student in good standing. G.P.A. 2.5 or better. Participates in school activities that fosters both cultural and diversity awareness and acceptance. Active in outside activities that foster diversity awareness and acceptance. Student must provide a transcript and a brief one page description of why he/she deserves this award. Also, include a brief biography. Must be accepted to a college/university or some form of higher education. Military enrollment can be considered for acceptance.
    Voorhees Soccer Association Scholarship Candidates must have participated in the Voorhees Soccer Association program. Please submit a brief essay on your experience as a member of the VSA and the impact it has had on your life.
    Voorhees Township Fire Department Scholarship Student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and is interested in entering the Emergency Services Field such as Fire Department, EMS, etc. Submit short essay explaining a) Why the student is interested in Emergency Services and b) What "community" means to the student and how the student could make it better.
    William F. Gerace Memorial Scholarship Bill Gerace tried to model his life after 3 principles: Friendship, Chivalry, & Service. Student is to submit a short essay demonstrating how these ideals are incorporated in the student’s life. Selected candidate should either currently reside in Gibbsboro or have completed 8th grade from Gibbsboro Elementary School.
