Proof of Address Requirements

All students residing in the district as defined by N.J.A.C. 6A:22-3.1 are eligible for a free public education at Eastern Regional High School under District Policy 5111, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:38-1. Students entering Eastern Regional High School or returning to Eastern Regional High School**, who are currently enrolled or changing addresses within the school district must have the required proof of address documentation on record.
**All students are considered "NEW" when they are either entering Eastern Regional High School for the first time, even if they are coming from one of the three sending middle schools, or if the student is returning to Eastern Regional High School from being previously enrolled.

Please provide ONE Primary Document and THREE Supporting Documents for a total of FOUR pieces of documentation to verify your student's in-district residency.

PRIMARY DOCUMENT OPTIONS (Review the living situation options below)

The student resides in a domicile that is OWNED by the legal parent(s)/guardian(s).
Documents that can be provided include:
- DEED
- MORTGAGE
- TAX BILL
- SELLER'S AGREEMENT
- DOCUMENT NAMING PARENT AS HOLDER OF THE ESTATE

The student resides in a domicile that is RENTED by the legal parent(s)/guardian(s).
Documents that can be provided include:
- CURRENT LEASE for the current or upcoming school year
- ORIGINAL LEASE PLUS LEASE RENEWAL (Lease Renewal must be for current or upcoming school year)
- SIGNED CONTRACT FOR A LONGTERM OR OPEN-ENDED RENTAL (Will need a notarized written statement from the landlord verifying this arrangement is still in effect for the current or upcoming school year
- CURRENT LEASE for the current or upcoming school year

OTHER ESTABLISHED RESIDENCE
The student AND at least one parent/legal guardian AND reside with someone in the district, but the owner/renter of the in-district domicile is NOT a legal guardian of the student, whether the arrangement is temporary (i.e. up to the duration of the school year) or permanent (i.e. for more than the duration of the school year).
Documents that can be provided include:

- Supporting document from the owner/renter of the domicile (i.e. proof of ownership or rental)
- Within 30 days of submitting the affidavit, submit at least TWO supporting documents with the parent(s)/guardian(s) name(s) and the address (see supporting document options to the right)

- Scanning the documents and attaching in an email
- Using a Smartphone or other device to take pictures of the documents and attach in an email
